The Liftoff Academy ("we," "us," or "our") runs theliftoffacademy.com (the "Site"), an online drone education program operated from Texas, USA. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It works together with our Terms of Service.

1. Who This Policy Covers

Our courses are designed for students ages 12 to 18. Because every student is under 18, accounts and purchases must be made by a parent, guardian, or other adult age 18 or older, who agrees to this policy on the student's behalf. Students take the course through that adult's account and with their permission.
We do not ask students to give us personal information directly. The parent or guardian provides the account and order details, and we use that information only to deliver the course and the drone. A parent or guardian can review, correct, or delete their student's information at any time by emailing info@theliftoffacademy.com. If you believe a student under 18 has given us personal information without a parent's or guardian's permission, contact us and we will delete it.

2. Information We Collect

Information you give us

• Account details, such as your name, email address, and password, when you sign up or log in.

• Order details, such as your name, email, phone number, and shipping address, when you buy a course or drone kit.

• Messages you send us through our contact form or by email.

Information collected automatically

• Course progress, such as which lessons you have started or completed.

• Basic technical information, such as browser type, device type, operating system, and approximate location (city or country level).

• Anonymized website analytics, described in Section 4.

Payment information

Payments are processed by Wix Payments and the payment methods it supports (such as credit and debit cards, PayPal, Apple Pay, and Google Pay). We do not see or store your full card number.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Create and manage your account and give you access to your course.

• Process orders and ship drone kits.

• Send receipts, order updates, and important account or course notices.

• Answer questions and provide support.

• Send newsletters or promotions, only if you choose to receive them. You can unsubscribe at any time.

• Understand how the Site is used so we can improve it.

• Keep the Site secure and meet our legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising.

4. Website Analytics (TWIPLA)

We use TWIPLA, a website analytics service connected to our Wix site, to understand how visitors use the Site. This includes page views, device and browser type, approximate location, heatmaps, and session recordings that show how pages are scrolled and clicked.

We run TWIPLA in its "Maximum Privacy" mode. In this mode:

• No cookies are placed on your device for analytics.

• No device fingerprinting is used.

• IP addresses and other identifying details are anonymized.

We use this information only in aggregate to improve the Site. It is not used to identify you or to show you ads.

5. Cookies & Your Consent

Cookies are small files stored on your device.

Essential cookies are needed for the Site to work. They keep you logged in, keep items in your cart, process checkout, and keep the Site secure. These cannot be turned off.

Optional cookies, such as analytics or marketing cookies from third-party tools, are only used if you agree.

When you first visit, a cookie banner (provided by Usercentrics) lets you choose Accept All, Deny, or Settings. Your choice is saved so we do not ask on every visit. You can change your choice at any time by clicking the privacy icon in the bottom-left corner of the Site. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some features may stop working.

6. Who We Share Information With

We share information only with service providers that help us run the Site, and only as needed:

• Wix.com, which hosts our Site, member accounts, online courses, store, and checkout.

• Payment processors, including Wix Payments and PayPal.

• TWIPLA, for anonymized website analytics.

• Usercentrics, to record your cookie choices.

• Shipping carriers, such as USPS, to deliver drone kits.

We also use Meta (Facebook and Instagram) to measure how our ads perform, such as whether a visit from an ad led to a purchase. Meta's tracking pixel only runs in your browser if you accept marketing cookies.
We may also share information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of The Liftoff Academy, our students, or others.

7. How Long We Keep Information

We keep account and course information for as long as your account is active. We keep order and payment records as long as needed for accounting, tax, and legal purposes. Analytics data is kept for up to 36 months. You can ask us to delete your account at any time (see Section 8).

8. Your Choices & Rights

You can:

• Access or update your account information by logging in and opening Account Settings.

• Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.

• Ask us to correct or delete your personal information.

• Opt out of marketing emails using the "unsubscribe" link in any email.

• Change your cookie choices using the privacy icon on the Site.

Parents and guardians can make these requests on behalf of a student under 18.

To make a request, email us at info@theliftoffacademy.com. We will respond within a reasonable time and may need to verify your identity first. We will not treat you differently for exercising these rights.

9. Security

We use reasonable safeguards, including the security tools built into Wix, to protect your information. No website or method of transmission is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Links to Other Sites

The Site may link to other websites, such as our social media pages or FAA resources. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, so please review their policies.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If the changes are significant, we may also notify students by email.
